Summary0000658: Adding options in the [Copy to 'mods' folder] drop down menu also for 'x64' and 'update' folders.
DescriptionAdding options in the [Copy to 'mods' folder] drop down menu also for 'x64' and 'update' folders.
Adding this option will allow you to create copies of original files faster in these locations and to securely edit them later.
Sometimes, when you install the .OIV modification, you do not get all copies of files and folders. When later we want to use or edit a new file or folder by modification, we need to manually create new folders and the location and send the original files for editing.
If it will be available and will work as you have with archives like x64a.rpf etc. it will help / speed up and simplify a lot.
GameGrand Theft Auto V

The latest version of OpenIV and OpenIV.ASI provide support for mods folder that can be very useful in the following cases:

Guys I made a Simple OpenIV tutorial for those eho still confuse while modding the game:)http://openiv.com/.

  • You have DVD or Rockstar Games Warehouse version of GTA V and every time you edit files Launcher download original files back;
  • You want to have original GTA V files unmodified;
  • You want to have fast way to switch between original and modified files.

Required software:

If you have OpenIV.ASI installed and 'mods' folder created in context menu you will see 'Copy to 'mods' folder' or 'Show in 'mods' folder' actions: This feature will copy all needed files and archives. Launch OpenIV, Go To update, then update.rpf, then x64, then textures, then script txds.rpf and copy to mods folder Step 7: Once copied to the mods folder open the same location from within the mods folder. While in Edit Mode drag the BTLS Textures.ytd file from the textures folder into the main window of OpenIV, adding it to the bottom of the list. Start a new folder called mods and then copy the update and x64 folders from your GTA V directory and paste them inside your new mods folder. Openiv Copy To Mods Folder4 – Open your GTA V folder in File Explorer; you can do it fast in OpenIV
Openiv Copy To Mods Folder5 – In root of your GTA V folder create new folder and name if mods (lower case)
6 – Now you have to copy RPF archives into mods folder. For example, if you want to modify Grand Theft Auto Vupdateupdate.rpf you need to copy it like Grand Theft Auto Vmodsupdateupdate.rpf.
The following table is explain how you need to copy archives to mods folder. The path to RPF archive in mods folder must be the same as in real GTA Vfolder, here is some examples:
Grand Theft Auto V – Original archive pathPath in “mods” folder
GTAVupdateupdate.rpfGTAVmodsupdateupdate.rpf
GTAVcommon.rpfGTAVmodscommon.rpf
GTAVx64audiosfxSCRIPT.rpfGTAVmodsx64audiosfxSCRIPT.rpf
GTAVupdatex64dlcpacksmpheistdlc.rpfGTAVmodsupdatex64dlcpacksmpheistdlc.rpf
GTAVx64e.rpfGTAVmodsx64e.rpf

7 – From this point if you want to install mod or edit some file you need to do it in archive from mods folder.

Now all your mods will be in separated folder, and original files will stay not modified.
If you want to switch back to original files just go to ASI Manager and remove OpenIV.ASI. In addition, you can remove ASI Loader to disable all ASI plugins that you have installed.
You can use ASI Manager any time to switch between mods and original game. You no need to remove mods folder every time.
