This driver works across all the Yamaha Clavina models with USB port for MIDI. When you have installed the driver, reboot the Mac and insert the USB-cable from Mac to piano. Then turn on the Piano. The Yamaha CSP-150 Clavinova Smart Piano combines the craftsmanship of a beautiful digital piano with the ease and power of an iPad to help you learn to play any song from your iTunes library. The CSP-150 comes with 700 high quality instrument sounds and a weighted keyboard with synthetic ivory white keys and wood grain ebony keys for. I have a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-501 that has a MIDI in and out cable interface and internal tone generators (at least I'm pretty sure it has them internally). I purchased a MIDI to USB cable in hopes that I would be able to easily connect the piano to my 2016 Macbook Pro but am unable to find a MIDI input signal from the audio MIDI setup application. Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (Intel Mac),Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard (PPC Mac),Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard,Mac OS X 10.7 Lion,Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion,Mac OS X 10.9 Maverics,Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite,Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan. The USB-MIDI driver is software that transfers MIDI data back and forth between PC software and Yamaha USB-MIDI devices. This video would teach you how you can connect your Yamaha Keyboard with GarageBand on your Mac system. For the purpose of this video, I have used Yamaha PSR.
Hello. I have searched for days and cannot find an answer that is specific to the devices I want to connect.
Obviously everyone seems to incur problems when setting up their first MIDI device and I am no exception. Would someone please tell me exactly what more I need to purchase/do in order to be able to connect my Clavinova to my computer and use Logic Pro X. I would like to be able to create beats and overlay tracks in real time similar to Pat Ryan on youtube (DAT WAY!! Making a Migos style beat in Logic Pro X - YouTube for anyone interested in knowing exactly what I'm talking about).
Additionally, if anyone knows more about my Yamaha Clavinova the problem may be on that end as well for all I'm aware... the MIDI setup seems overly-complicated, because I can click on MIDI setup on the piano screen and it gives me like 8 different customizable options for MIDI setup that I have no idea how to use.
Below I have attached images of the cable interface for my piano and an image of the cable I bought in hopes of connecting my Mac and the piano. A million thanks to whoever can answer my question.
